Indian captain MS Dhoni said the lack of partnerships in the Indian batting against New Zealand was to blame for the loss in the first match of Super 10 stage in Nagpur. Dhoni said there were quite a few 'soft dismissals. However, the Indian captain said the team was confident of making a strong comeback against Pakistan.
Dhoni said it would not be very difficult for the team to get over this 'bad defeat'.

"What's important is how to turn around and how to come back strong. I think, this team has done this plenty of times, right from the last world cup that we played. It's something that this team has shown this character of coming back after, you can say, a bad defeat."

Dhoni rued the soft dismissals and regular wicket loss during the Indian innings.

"I think the bowlers did a good job by restricting them to 126. It was the batting department which could have done better. I think, every alternate over we lost a wicket. It becomes more and more difficult one the top order gets out."

"It seems as if cricket has become very difficult, but what's important at that time is to get some kind of a partnership going, even if it is not big."

India now face arch rival Pakistan on March 19 in Kolkata. The match was shifted from Dharamshala after the state government raised apprehensions about possible demonstrations against the Pakistani cricket team.

Pakistan, so far, has never won a match against India in a world cup.
