Former chauffeur at the Indian consulate in Sydney has claimed he was underpaid by the consulate and unfairly dismissed after he began speaking about the alleged malpractices at the consulate.
Hitender Kumar has also alleged that the consulate issued passports without police checks.
His claim against the alleged unfair dismissal by the consulate is before the Fairwork Commission.
Hitender Kumar says he was dismissed for blowing the whistle on the consulate's questionable practices, Fairfax media has reported.
Mr. Kumar has claimed that he was sacked after he aired concerns about consulate issuing passports without conducting required police verification.
He also claimed that he was underpaid.
"My dismissal was unfair. It happened when I started raising my voice about things they were doing against Australian law," Mr. Kumar said.
"They were not giving us penalty rates and overtime rates."
He said the consulate had told him it was immune from Australian workplace laws.
Mr. Kumar's employment was terminated by deputy consul-general Vinod Bahade on March 13 last year.
