Two prisoners escaped from police custody by drugging the policemen when they were brought for a court hearing in Amritsar district courts in India. All four cops were admitted to a local hospital in a state of unconsciousness.
The policemen who were responsible for taking the prisoners to the court and then back to jail reportedly fell unconscious after they drank fruit juice offered by some friends of the prisoners at an eatery outside the court.
As soon as the cops lost consciousness, the prisoners escaped while still manacled. Both the escaped prisoners are notorious gang members and are doing time for cases of murder and robbery.
Though the police managed to arrest one of the two escaped prisoners, the other continues to be on the run.
