An Indian national will face court today for allegedly indecently assaulting a child in Sydney on Sunday.
The New South Wales police alleged that the 28-year-old approached the toddler sitting in a pram during a visit to the Sea Life Aquarium in Darling Harbour at around 5 pm on Sunday.
The man allegedly kissed the two-year-old on the lips following a brief interaction. He did not know the child or his family, police said.
He was reportedly pushed away by one of the toddler’s parents.
The incident was reported to the police and the alleged offender was arrested.
The man was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with intentionally sexually touching a child under ten years.
He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Monday.

In an interview with SBS Punjabi, Manwinder Singh, a lawyer based in Melbourne said there is a need to increase legal awareness among Indian nationals, particularly young students before they arrive in Australia.
“My message to young students arriving in Australia is that they all must have knowledge of the law in this country before their arrival. There are books available and a lot of reading material that can guide them on principles of the criminal and civil law,” said Mr Singh.
