Kiran Bedi has served in the police force for over 30 years and had contested in elections last year on BJP ticket opposite AAP's Arvind Kejriwal. She was once, also a part of the India Against Corruption Movement led by Anna Hazare.

Punducherry recently concluded elections where Congress + DMK won 17 seats.
