People are being asked to check the packets of garlic bread they may have in their fridge or freezers after a major manufacturer issued a recall on a large range of products.
George Weston Foods has recalled 11 of their garlic bread products after two small pieces of plastic were found in a margarine blender on January 11. Many of the recalled products are sold nationally at major retailers including Woolworths, Foodworks, IGA and Aldi.
This food chain also supplies garlic bread to Pizza Hut and Domino’s and both these outlets have removed these items from their menu until further notice. Domino’s released a statement saying they have had no reports from customers regarding contaminated food so far.
George Weston Foods have said that they have removed all products from the market shelves and have asked consumers to discontinue the use of any recalled products.
"Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to discontinue use and either contact George Weston Foods Consumer Information Centre ... or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund," a statement read.
