A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle on a dark stretch of road near Adelaide Airport on Tapleys Hill Road on Wednesday night. The initial reports suggested that it was a hit and run case and police were asking for witnesses to come forward. But the news has since been updated and it is being reported now that the pedestrian was actually hit by a taxi and the taxi driver stayed back at the scene and is helping the police with their investigation.
Paramedics attended the scene but could not save the victim. He is believed to be a 45 year old NSW man.
There has been no report of any charges yet and police are investigating as to what that man might have been doing on the road at that time as there is no residential area or shops around the site.
Police are still asking for any witnesses to come forward.
