“I met her and she is going to make one heck of a developer,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook pointing at 9-year-old Anvitha Vijay who is the youngest developer at this year’s apple worldwide developer conference in San Francisco.
A year-four student of Mount View Primary School in Melbourne, Anvitha developed her first app when was just seven.
She is a self-taught developer who watched videos and searched internet to learn coding.
Anvitha has created a handful of apps one of which is available on the App store, called Smartkins- an app for kids that has over 100 different animals.
The iOS app won her a berth at San Francisco WWDC where 350 young coders are meeting. She is one of eight in Australia.
"I'm learning a lot already, there's so many smart people to talk to. San Francisco is great – the weather is even weirder than Melbourne's," she told Fairfax from the conference.
