Students at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology’s Mumbai campus (IIT-Bombay) were left amused when a stray cow casually sauntered into their lecture hall, that too on the first floor, causing a (moo)hem.

In the video that has since gone viral, a teacher and bewildered students can be seen standing at their spots, some staring, while others attempting to shoo away the spotted animal that nonchalantly enters from one door, and exits from another, without making a fuss.

Students present in the classroom claimed that the cattle may have entered the campus over the weekend when it was raining heavily in the city.

Needless to say, the said video has sparked a meme fest on Twitter, prompting many to ask if the cow had taken the JEE Advanced, a joint entrance test for selected engineering colleges across India.

Here's some sarcasm:

Speaking to PTI, a spokesperson for IIT said that the institute has set up a committee to look into the ‘human versus animal’ conflict on the campus and has asked the staff and guards to stay on alert.

"The committee members have been discussing the matter. They will consult the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation), NGOs and animal experts before taking any steps," the spokesperson said.

This, however, isn’t the first-cattle related incident that has occurred on the premier institute’s Mumbai campus.

Last month, a student was knocked unconscious by two stray bulls on his way to the laboratory.
