Photo showing Modi cleaning floor was fake

An RTI reply has stated that the image is not that of Mr. Modi and was actually morphed.

Even if you were not following the 2014 parliamentary election in India, you would still have seen the picture of Narendra Modi holding a broom and cleaning floor. The black and white picture went viral and projected Mr. Modi as someone from a very humble background, who claims to have sold tea at railway station for a living as a child. Some BJP supporters even used this picture as part of the election campaign.
But now, information obtained under the Right to Information Act has revealed that the photo was fake. And, the person in the picture was not Mr. Modi.

The RTI reply said, “…It is stated while the information sought does not form part of records, it may be noted that the said photograph is morphed and the person in the photo is not Mr Narendra Modi.”

And apparently, this is the real image.
