Investigators have been told five victims had purses and cash stolen, between midday and 12.30pm.
Three victims reported their purses stolen and two other claimed money was stolen from their purses, which were placed back in their handbags.
Investigators believe three females of Indian sub-continental appearance appeared to distract the victims before taking their wallets and cash.
