Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing person Angina Pal who was last seen in Victoria in May 1984 and would now be 60-years-old.
The Fijian born woman, who is of Indian descent, travelled to Australia in 1973 on a 1-month tourist visa however stayed illegally.
She was known to use a number of different aliases and lived in many different states between 1973 and 1984.
Angina was in a long term relationship with a Fijian-Indian man named John.
In 1977 the couple lived in Western Australia and had a son named Vincent.
In the early 1980s, the couple moved to Victoria and resided in the greater Geelong area, around Torquay.
In May 1984, Angina was living between two addresses in Victoria, one in Hawthorn with her son and one in Torquay where her now deceased sister Arita was living.
There are no confirmed sightings of Angina or signs of life after 2 May, 1984.
Angina was reported missing by her mother, who now lives in Sydney, in 1992.
She had been estranged from her son since 1984.
The NSW Police Missing Persons Unit has also been investigating Angina’s whereabouts.
Missing Persons Squad detectives are releasing images of Angina from 1975 and 1983 in the hope someone recognises her and can provide any information regarding her movements over the years.
They are also releasing a digital image of what Angina might look like now in the event someone recognises her and can provide information on where she may be living now or if she is still alive.
