Police 'shoot knife-wielding man' at Sydney shopping centre

NSW Police have reportedly shot a man armed with a knife at a shopping centre in Hornsby, in Sydney's north.

A man holding a knife has reportedly been shot at a Westfield shopping centre in Hornsby, in Sydney's north.

Channel Seven is reporting two or three people have been stabbed by one man who police then shot when he lunged at them.

There is no confirmation about the severity of his injuries or whether he has been killed.

Four people are reportedly injured but it is believed no-one has died and emergency services have responded to the incident.

NSW Police have confirmed officers are responding to an incident in Hornsby.

Witnesses took to social media to report hearing gunshots and seeing the man and three other people on the ground.

Witnesses reported the man lunged at police with the knife before he was shot.
