A man suspected of being involved in Sunday’s Nabha jail break incident has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district.
Hindustan Times reports that 29-year-old Palwinder Singh has confessed to his involvement in the jail break plot that freed Khalistan Liberation Force chief Harminder Singh Mintoo and four others.
According to the UP Police, a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the SUV that Singh was travelling in when he was arrested.

Police recovered a self-loading rifle, two rifles, cartridges and cash from his possession after he was arrested in Shamli district’s Kairana, said Ajay Anand, the Meerut zone inspector general.
“He has been taken at some secret location for interrogation. We have informed Punjab police, and the interrogation is underway,” Anand said.

Another officer of the UP Police told reporters that KLF chief Harminder Singh ‘Mintoo’ was dropped at Panipat in Haryana.
A high alert was sounded in all districts of Punjab and it borders with neighbouring states were sealed following the incident.
