India’s Finance Ministry has confirmed that the central bank will soon issue 200-rupee note.
Along with the new Rs 200 note, the government has also confirmed a new Rs 50 note. The earlier Rs 50 notes will continue to remain legal tender.
The move will help fill the vast demand for cash after the notes ban, which wiped out over 85 per cent of the cash in circulation on November 8 last year.
According to experts, the new Rs 200 note will help in day-to-day transactions and will replenish the old currency loss following the demonetisation move by the Union government.
