Sachin is only 17 years old and has become the third Indian boxer to ever win gold at the Youth World Championship, the other two being Thokchom Nanao Singh and Vikas Krishnan.
Due to this achievement, President of Boxing Federation of India (BFI), Ajay Singh announced that Sachin Singh will be awarded a prize of Rs 1 lakh for this impressive victory.
The championship was held at St Petersburg, Russia where Sachin defeated his Cuban opponent Jorge Grinanin the 49 Kg category
