Sakshi Malik has given India their first medal at the Rio Olympics. She created history by winning a bronze medal in women's 58 kg in freestyle wrestling event. She beat Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan in the bronze medal match, becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win an Olympic medal.
She has become the first Indian female wrestler to win an Olympic medal.
Her hometown in the north Indian state of Haryana erupted in joy.

Sakshi was trailing 0-5 in the first half of the match. She just had the final couple of minutes and she turned it around completely to clinch the match 8-5.
Earlier, she lost 9-2 to Valeria Koblova of Russia in the quarter-final match.
