It has been confirmed Sanaya's funeral will be held at Bunurong Memorial Park in Dandenong South on Saturday at 11.15 am, and will be open to the public to pay their last respects and bid a final farewell.
Earlier today, a vigil was held at Olympic Park, the place where Sanaya Sahib's body was found, earlier this week. Dozens of people gathered today in a show of support and sympathy, releasing yellow and pink balloons to honour Sanaya's memory. Even before today, hundreds of flowers, soft toys, and notes had been left at a makeshift shrine along a fence at Olympic Park since the toddler was found murdered at the nearby Darebin Creek.
While 22 year old mother Sofia Nikat, remains in police custody, for allegedly killing her daughter Sanaya, the Victorian government has begun its an investigation into the response of government agencies.
