This is the third year in a row that Punjab Sports Club Shepparton is holding the Kabaddi tournament.
One of the organisers and club member, Mr Sam Aukakh told SBS Punjabi,

“Our main aim to organise this event here is to put Shepparton on the map. We want people to know that we have a big, thriving Punjabi and Indian community in Shepparton.”
He also mentioned that such events help the Punjabi and Indian community to integrate into the main stream society. He encouraged people from other communities as well to make time and visit the event.
Kabaddi teams from all over the country will participate in this event. Apart from Kabaddi, the club will organise activities such as races for kids, musical chairs, rope tugging and other cultural programs.
Sam Aulakh also mentioned that they will run free kitchen, ‘Langar’, all day long for all visitors starting at 8 am.
“Langar will be served to everyone. We encourage everyone to come and participate in the events.”
