Shot fired in Melbourne CBD - One dead

Update - One person has died. At least one shot has been fired in Melbourne CBD today around 6pm.

UPDATE - An Australian Federal Police officer has died after suffering a fatal gunshot wound at the AFP headquarters in Melbourne CBD. The woman was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. Australian Federal Police Commissioner Andrew Colvin said the thoughts of the AFP were with the woman's loved ones. The death is not being treated as suspicious.


 

Seven News has reported that emergency crews were called the Australian Federal Police headquarters in Melbourne CBD which is at LaTrobe Street.. It is believed that one woman has been taken to hospital with injuries. It has also been reported that the injured person is a member of the Australian Federal Police. The reason of the incident and the condition of the victim, however is unknown at this stage.

A Victorian Police spokesperson has confirmed that they are not looking for anyone in this case and have asked for privacy at this time. They said no further details will be provided at this stage.

 An investigation is underway.
