A Sikh man in the UK, competing in a popular television bakery show, has suffered racial abuse after appearing in the first two episodes of the show.
28-year-old Rav Bansal, who is one of the ten finalists of 'The Great British Bake Off', said he received racist abuse following his appearance on the show that aired on BBC.
Rav took to twitter to reveal his experience.
"So today I was asked 'Are you the p*ki on the not so British bake off?' Really, in 2016?," he questioned on Twitter yesterday.
His tweet prompted and outpouring of support from friends and followers.
The BBC reported that Rav is not the only contestant to receive racist abuse.
Last year's winner of the popular show, Nadiya Hussain also faced racist abuse. She said it has become an everyday part of her life.
