Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and Budhists are the top four happiest religions in the United Kingdom, the latest data from the Office for National Statistics show.
Hindus have been found to be the happiest, with the Sikhs at number three in happiness index among all communities in UK.
Muslims had the lowest happiness ranking of the religions listed, with a score of 7.33, The Huffington Post has reported.
On average, Hindus scored a rating of 7.57 for happiness, followed by Christians at 7.47, Sikhs with 7.45 and Buddhist at 7.41.
People who reported they did not follow any religion were the unhappiest with a ranking of just 7.22.
The report analysed over 300,000 adults in the UK, over 3 years between 2012 and 2015.
People aged 65 to 79 reported the highest average levels of personal well-being.
Ratings of life satisfaction and happiness were at their lowest, on average, for those aged 45 to 59.
Well-being ratings fell amongst the oldest age groups, aged 75 and over.
Those aged 90 and over reported higher life satisfaction and happiness compared with people in their middle years.
Average anxiety ratings increased through early and middle years, peaking between 45 to 59 years, but then subsequently falling and remaining relatively unchanged for those aged 65 and over.
