New South Wales police said the robber had earlier filled up his Toyota Camry at the Ourimbah at the NSW Central coast, and allegedly drove away without paying.

Attendant Mintu Sharma tried to chase the man but he drove off. He told police the man returned a little later armed with a handgun.

A surveillance video captured the terrifying moments when the armed robber pointed the weapon at Sharma. He allegedly asked an elderly customer present in the store at that time to collect money from the cash register and hand him over.

Police have now appealed for public assistance to investigate the aggravated burglary.

The man has been described as being Caucasian appearance, 180 cm tall of thin build, wearing a white t-shirt.

Police also want to speak to a woman who accompanied the man in the vehicle.
