Two teenage girls have been charged over a string of home invasions and robberies in Melbourne's outer south-east.
The 16-year-old girls from Cranbourne North and Pakenham, in Melbourne's south-east, were arrested in an allegedly stolen car on Sunday afternoon.
Both the girls will appear in a children’s court after they were charged over aggravated burglaries, car thefts and drug offences in Berwick, Dandenong, Lynbrook, Drouin and Longwarry over the past two months.
Victoria Police said there had been almost 80 arrests since Operation Cosmas was set up in May to investigate aggravated burglaries and carjackings.
In an unrelated incident, two men have been seriously injured during an aggravated burglary in Melbourne's outer east.
One man has been airlifted to hospital with serious, upper body injuries after reports of an assault in Lilydale at 5.20am on Monday, Ambulance Victoria said.
A second man was taken by road to the Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition with injuries to his upper body.
Victoria Police said detectives were still at the house in Mitchell Road trying to work out exactly what happened during the aggravated burglary.
