A video of Aam Aadmi Party leaders rejoicing its supposed victory in Punjab election has gone viral on social media.
Senior party Sanjay Singh and other members are seen celebrating and congratulating Bhagwant Mann.
“Bhagwant Mann, you are leading by 50,000 votes from Jalalabad,” Sanjay Singh says while speaking over the phone, adding that the party was set to cross 100 seat mark.
The AAP leaders then ask Mann, “Are you a chief ministerial candidate now?”.
Deepak Vajpayee, an AAP leader from Delhi then holds a mock television style interview with Mann.
Sanjay Singh later clarified that the video was actually recorded on 4th February, the polling day in Punjab.
He said it was done in a lighter vein and that the AAP was not a “Taliban” and its leaders were free to laugh and crack jokes.
Aam Aadmi Party won 24 seats in a keenly contested three-way election in Punjab where many poll pundits had predicted it to go neck and neck with Congress.
However, Congress party registered a big victory by winning 76 seats in the 117 member house.
