The heart-stopping moment was captured on a cockpit video when two planes crashed on the runway in Nevada, United States during a competition last week.

The incident involved Thom Richard who was competing in the Reno National Championship Air Races on September 18.
As Richard stopped his plane on the runway, another plane crashed into it from behind with great force.
Mr. Richard had stopped the engine of his plane on the runway due to a technical snag. However, the information wasn’t conveyed to another participant in the competition, causing the two plans to crash.

The incident which could otherwise prove catastrophic, fortunately, caused an injury just to Mr. Richard’s hand. He later shared the video on Youtube.
"Another four feet to the left and I would have been mincemeat. Literally dodging a bullet. A busted up hand is a small price to pay. I'll take it", he wrote on Facebook.
However, his plane wasn’t that lucky, it suffered massive damage which will take several months to restore repair before it’s able to return to the runway again.
