A small wax museum in Punjab has become an internet sensation after photos of some of its wax figures were posted to Twitter. The extraordinary collection has created quite the stir not for its lifelike representations but for achieving quite the opposite.
Businessman turned artist Chandra Shekhar Prabhakar who set up the museum at his home in 2005 claims he got his inspiration to sculpt wax figures after he visited the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.
Mr Prabhakar’s museum now houses a total of 52 wax figurines of famous national and international personalities including Barack Obama, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mother Teresa, and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar among others.
But when the pictures of the museum were uploaded to the internet, the barely-identifiable wax statues created quite the impression.
But while most were busy mocking Prabhakar’s creations, one journalist took to Twitter to share the story behind the museum owner's humble beginnings.
Chandra Shekhar Prabhakar is a 71 yr old man who took up this hobby way back in 2005 after a heart surgery. His motive was to keep himself engaged as he could no longer manage his business and handed over the reins to his children. He is a spirited man and very inspiring

This is far from the first time a wax museum has shot to fame for its rather unorthodox celebrity creations. In 2015 a wax museum in Guangzhou, China, went viral for its unintentionally-humorous figurines of Leonardo Di Caprio and Rowan Atkinson's Mr Bean.
