12 people are amputated daily in Australia, due to diabetes related complications

One in four adult Australians either have diabetes or have impaired glucose intolerance. Of them, every day there are 12 people will need to get an amputation, for a complication arising from uncontrolled diabetes.


July 10-16, 2016 was marked as National Diabetes Week in Australia, and to raise awareness about it, we invited Dr Sandeep Bhagat to share the latest research and statistics about diabetes.

 

He also went on to answer many questions that our listeners put to him during a talkback sessions. Myths were busted and misconceptions were cleared, in this informative interview and talkback session.
