This increased by 37.9% in 2023-24, with 145,032 applications received for the same visa.

Migration agent from Visacraft Migrations and visa expert Navneet Singh told SBS Punjabi that the rise in applications for 485 visas, fewer grants, and tougher visa norms could collectively make obtaining this visa more challenging for future applicants.

As of 30 June 2024, there were 216,494 Temporary Graduate visa holders in Australia. The department has a further 26,480 visas still awaiting processing.
