Over ten years ago, when vlogging wasn’t even common lingo, Sammy Gill was quietly making waves from his home in Melbourne.
His comedic yet meaningful content often layered with social messages—offered a fresh perspective on the immigrant experience, resonating deeply with Punjabis settled across the globe.
From making short skits to now working in Punjabi films, Mr Gill has built bridges from YouTube to the silver screen.
His YouTube channel once had half a million subscribers, but he’s not chasing numbers anymore. “Now I chase meaning," he says.
His themes still remain close to the community: identity, migration, the generational divide—and now, even reverse migration.
