In India, prohibition is firmly on the political agenda, with a number of states promising to ban alcohol. In the southern state of Tamil Nadu the newly re-elected chief minister has vowed to take action. Anti-alcohol campaigners say there are 13 million alcoholics in Tamil Nadu, although independent figures aren't available.
