The number of children in out-of-home care continues to rise in Australia, but a shortage of foster carers remains.
More than 43,000 children are in out-of-home care in Australia, a 15 per cent jump since 2011.
Simone Czech (sih-MONE check) is the acting executive director of design, innovation, safety and permanency at New South Wales Family and Community Services. She says there are multiple factors behind the increase but one particular issue.
