A boy with a dream of playing football in Europe is now representing New Zealand at the FIFA World Cup 2026. Born to a migrant Punjabi family in Auckland, 27-year-old Sarpreet Singh has earned his place on football's biggest stage at the FIFA World Cup. He previously represented the Kiwis at two FIFA U-20 World Cups and played as an attacking midfielder for New Zealand at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Driven by his passion for football, Sarpreet shares how injuries and several setbacks couldn’t keep him from living out his dream.
