Ukrainian filmmaker and writer Oleg Sentsov in 2015 was convicted to 20 years in jail by Russian court on charges of plotting terrorism acts. On May 14 he has gone on hunger strike demanding the release of all Ukrainian prisoners held in the Russian prisons for political motives. In Russia many prominent figures and organisations campaign for Oleg Sentsov's release. In many other countries people support campaigns for his release or, at least, for the reduction of his conviction term. In Australia the active campaign for Oleg Sentsov's release is led by Tatiana Bonch-Osmolovskaya, member of the Free Word association, writer, researcher , teacher and human rights activist. We spoke to her today about her involvement in this case.
