The Russian team has been banned from competing at next year's Winter Olympics. It comes after the prolonged doping scandal involving many Russian athletes. Russian sporting officials, including Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov are also been suspended. Nevertheless, some individual Russian athletes will be able to compete in the Games under the desgination Olympic Athlete from Russia. We asked Dr. Alexey Muraviev, who is the Associate professor and Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Security Studies at Curtin University in Western Australia to share his view on the international scandal.
