Tensions between Russia and Ukraine are escalating, with Ukraine set to enact martial law, giving authorities the power to restrict public rallies and regulate the media. Both countries accuse each other of violation of the law. According to the Ukrainian side, Kiev warned Russia about following of sea vessels through the Kerch Strait. The Russian side considers Ukraine provoking the incident, by entering Russian territorial waters. We asked Dr. Alexey Muraviev the Associate Professor of National Security and Strategic Studies at Curtin University in Perth whether the incident at Azov could lead to further escalation of the incident into an international conflict?
