On February 24, the anniversary of the large-scale invasion by the Russian armed forces, rallies in support of Ukraine were held in many cities around the world. Rallies in Melbourne were also part of these demonstrations.

Protest groups of activists of the Russian-speaking community prepared a rally on the Princes bridge, and a large Ukrainian rally was held at Federation Square, which was attended by more than a thousand people from different communities of multicultural Australia, with the participation of representatives of the governments and parliaments of Victoria and Australia.
