APSA was established in 2007, and has gained a great respect among filmmakers. It is often called The Asian Oscars. Every year Brisbane welcomes an accolade of distinguished filmmakers of the region. The award ceremony on the 29th of November saw three Russian films Hoffmaniada, The Lord Eagle, and Rezo nominated for various awards, and the latter has won in The Best Animated Film . Alexandr Rodnyansky, a prolific film producer from Russia and Ukraine, led a team of the international jury this year and we grabbed this opportunity to have a chat about his remarkable career and some of nominated films.
