The new book "A New Rival State? Australia in Tsarist Diplomatic Communications" by Dr Alexander Massov, the journalist from radio 4EB Brisbane Marina Pollard and Dr Kevin Windle is a view of Australia the staff of the Russian consulate of times of Imperial Russia through their official reports which spans across the period of 1857-1917. The Australian Ambassador in the Russian Federation his excellency Mr Peter Tesch kindly provided the residence for the book presentation. As we speak with the Ambassador, we discuss the historical highlights of the bilateral relations and their current state.
