Paramedics are the most dangerous occupation in Australia. Their death rate is the highest in the whole country. The call centre dispatchers work under enormous stress because the only have minutes, or even seconds to make a decision which would mean a difference between life and death. In NSW alone, ambulances have to attend one million incidents in a year.
