In December 2024, two Russian oil tankers sank in the Kerch Strait. The tankers were carrying over 9 000 tons of fuel, and at least a third spilled in the sea. SBS Russian discussed the tanker disaster with Eugene Simonov, expert coordinator of the Ukraine War Environmental Consequences work group.
