1300 Australians died in road accidents last year. Northern Territory is the worst, with death statistics 4 times higher than the national average.Many deaths occurred in water, with a number of toddlers drowning in backyard pools.
The Government is calling for better safety measures like proper fencing, swimming lessons etc.
