"Don't admit and forbid" – expert calls new recommendations for Russian scientists

The new regulations introduced by Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education impose restrictions for the Russian scientists on their communication with their international colleagues, suggesting they should formally ask permission to meet colleagues from abroad, have at least 2 representatives from a Russian organisation present during the meeting and other things that were ridiculed by the international community and the scientists themselves. Dr Alexey Muraviev, Associate Professor of National Security and Strategic Studies at Curtin University (Perth) comments on these recommendations struggling to find logic in the extent of those restrictions.
