The 24th in the World Russian Ekaterina Makarova in starting round of AO defeated Australian Maddison ranking 779th of World classification. The match ended 6/3, 6/0. In the second round Makarova will meet Tatjana Maria from Germany who advanced beating Belarusian Olga Govortsova. Ekaterina admitted to the SBS Russian program that sometimes it is difficult to cope with emotions on court, especially in a case of a trauma.
