Opera Werther by Massenet was written in German, and the libretto was inspired by Goethe’s epistolary novel, The Sufferings of Young Werther. Now this masterpiece is on at Joan Sutherland theatre, Sydney Opera House. Russian acclaimed mezzo-soprano Elena Maximova sings the part of Charlotte. Elena came to the SBS Russian studio to talk about her performance.
