Eurovision boycott campaign fails to dissuade participants

In the early hours of Wednesday, Australian time, Australia’s Kate-Miller Heidke took to the Eurovision stage in Tel-Aviv for the first semi-final and went through to the final. But the talk of this year’s contest so far has been a boycott campaign backed by supporters of the Palestinian territories. While no artists have withdrawn from the event, it has attracted significant publicity, and the Israeli government says it's discriminatory and anti-Semitic.
