Fallout from Dastyari resignation is heated

The Turnbull Government has intensified its attack on embattled Labor senator Sam Dastyari, calling on him to quit immediately rather than wait. It follows Senator Dastyari's announcement that he will not return to parliament next year. Ahead of this weekend's by-election in the Sydney seat of Bennelong, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has used the affair to take aim at Opposition Leader Bill Shorten. But, at the same time, he has been forced to fight off claims he and his Government are anti-China, the country embroiled in the Dastyari affair.
