From St Petersburg to Port Jackson

Elena Govor is happy to add another book to her collection. With co-author Alexander Massov they started to compile it in Russian more than 30 years ago, uncovering official reports, travel notes and memoirs by ships’ officers and other Russian travellers to Australia in the nineteenth century. Now it is published English, translated by Kevin Windle, and offers a unique perspective on the Australian colonies and their development through the eyes of visiting Russians.
