The federal government has vowed to fight an election on trade-union reform unless the Senate passes legislation to re-establish a powerful construction industry regulator. It's one of the measures Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull wants to see enacted in response to allegations of widespread misconduct set out in the final report of the Royal Commission into union corruption. But the opposition has labelled the Commission's work a political witch-hunt against the government's opponents.
