Three Labor M-Ps and one independent have resigned over their dual citizenship status, just hours after the High Court ruled Senator Katy Gallagher was invalidly elected under Section 44. The ruling means Ms Gallagher is ineligible to serve in the federal parliament. The court found the former A-C-T chief minister breached the constitution's ban on dual citizens because she still held British citizenship at the time of the last election.
